Dark, ominous, evil, melancholic, sad, beautiful. That’s a way of describing my fifth solo album which started as a musical experiment. I own the Ghostwriter virtual instrument created by the legendary progressive rock musician Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion, Blackfield, No-Man, Storm Corrosion, solo artist) and Doug Rogers from EastWest Sounds. This instrument features unique acoustic, organic instruments that were sampled and heavily processed to create unique sounds. No synthesizers. My purpose was to create an entire instrumental album featuring only sounds from Ghostwriter and nothing else. Hence the name Ghost Melodies. The sounds have a lot of character and lend themselves perfectly for cinematic and atmospheric music with a brooding touch.
